Chi (“Chee”) Sun, L. Ac., MAOM, is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist through the Massachusetts Board of Registry in Medicine and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is a native of Taiwan but has been living in the US for over 23 years and has been a Brookline resident for over 15 years. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin. She trained as a lawyer in Taiwan and came to the USA to obtain a Master’s in Law and is a licensed attorney in New York. She worked as a lawyer in New York, then later worked in social services for the elderly and in a non-profit. In each job she got great satisfaction from helping people, but wanted to be able to do more. Her great grandfather was an acupuncturist and herbalist, so she is happy to be returning to her family’s roots.
She was introduced to acupuncture first-hand as a patient. With a history or migraines and the use of headache medicines, when she wanted to start a family she sought out alternative treatments. Using acupuncture she was able to come off of all medicines and experience a healthy pregnancy, headache and painkiller free. She employed acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas throughout her pregnancy for various issues that came up and had a wonderful and healthy daughter, Emily.
She completed her second Master’s Degree in Acupuncture at the New England School of Acupuncture. While at NESA she did extensive clinical work at Boston Medical Center specializing in the treatment of infants and children. She also undertook additional training in employing both acupuncture and herbs for women’s health and to promote fertility. Due to her own experience, she has a particular interest in the treatment of women and children.
She is also the co-founder and vice president of the herbal skincare line Emily Skin Soothers, which formulates soaps and balms for people with sensitive skin and eczema. She is pleased to be able to help people of all ages with both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Turning Leaf Acupuncture.
